Aim (Aym / Haborym)
Aim is a Great Duke of the Ars Goetia, ruling twenty-six legions of spirits. He is drawn as a striking, almost theatrical figure — a man with three heads: a serpent, a man, and a cat — mounted on a viper, a burning firebrand in his hand to light his own way.
Fire is his signature. Classical grimoires credit him with the power to set cities, castles, and great strongholds ablaze — but the tradition is clear this isn't chaos for its own sake. It's fire as revelation: he burns away pretense, false fronts, things built on weak foundations. What's left standing after Aim's flame has passed is what was actually true.
Why call on him
Three gifts, tied together by that same fiery thread:
- Wit — sharp, quick, cutting-through-nonsense intelligence. Not cleverness for show, but the kind of mental fire that sees an angle nobody else saw.
- Truth in private matters — he's known as a spirit who gives true answers, particularly about things people try to keep hidden. The serpent head sees what's buried; the cat head sees in the dark.
- Destruction that clears ground — burning down what needs to end so something honest can be built after. The firebrand isn't punishment, it's clarity.
So in incense work, Aim is the one you call when you need illumination that doesn't flinch — when you want the truth of a situation lit up even if it's uncomfortable, or when something in your life has outstayed its welcome and needs to go, cleanly, so new growth has room.
